QuizWhiz uses a credit system to manage access to its AI-powered features. This guide explains what credits are, how they're used, and how you can manage your credit balance.

What is a Credit?

A credit is a unit of currency within QuizWhiz. You use credits to perform actions that utilize our AI, such as:

  • Generating quizzes: Creating a new quiz from text, PDF, document, or URL.
  • Study Notes: Generated Study Notes from Raw Text or from a topic.
  • Using the AI Chat: Interacting with your uploaded documents using the AI chat feature. (If applicable)
  • Assessments: AI Analysis during Self-Assessment or the Hosted Quiz Results.
  • Text Extraction from Images: You can use GPT-4 to extract text from images.

Think of credits like tokens at an arcade. You need tokens (credits) to play the games (use AI features).

How Many Credits Do Actions Cost?

The number of credits required for each action varies depending on the complexity and resource usage. Here's a breakdown:

  • Quiz Generation:
    • The credit cost depends both on the input and the output.
    • For example, generating a quiz with about 30 questions from an input of 400 words costs 1 credit.
    • Longer quizzes or quizzes with more complex question types (e.g., multi-part) may consume slightly more credits.
  • AI Chat:
    • Each interaction with the AI chat (e.g., asking a question) costs [Specify credit cost per interaction - e.g., 0.1 credits]. (Adjust this based on your actual pricing.)

What Happens When I Run Out of Credits? (Free Trial)

During your 14-day free trial, you have access to all features, and may have a limited number of credits. If you run out of credits during the trial, you can continue to use any non-AI features.

What Happens When I Run Out of Credits? (Paid Plan)

If you are in a paid plan, you won't be able to use any AI powered features, such as generating quizzes. You can also wait for the next cycle for the credits to reset to the maximum based on your account status and subscription level. Currently, there isn't a way to add more credits without potentially upgrading the subscription, but it is planned for the future.

Tips for Managing Your Credits

  • Review and Edit: Always review and edit the AI-generated quiz options before finalizing them. This ensures accuracy and allows you to make any necessary adjustments without using additional credits for regeneration.
  • Be Mindful of Input Length: For quiz generation, longer input materials will generally result in more questions and may consume more credits.
  • Plan Your Usage: Consider how many quizzes you'll need to create each month and choose a plan that provides enough credits for your needs.
